General HRIS Navigation Introduction
"Employee Management" is the only application that you will use in HRIS. You will notice when you first log in to HRIS, you will be at your Employee Dashboard screen. This is like your HRIS homepage. To return to your homepage (the Employee Dashboard screen), click the Employee Dashboard tab at any time.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Minimize the navigation menu on the left side of your screen. Once logged into HRIS, you will notice a navigation menu on the left side of the screen as shown here. Under the Applications drop-down menu, you will see 'Employee Management' as the only option. This will not change. Although you can use this navigation menu to create new records, we recommend that you minimize it completely. You will access more user-friendly functionality in HRIS under the main navigation menu. To minimize the left navigation menu, click on the two double arrows (<<) that point left as highlighted by the yellow arrow as shown above. |
Once you minimize that navigation menu, the two little black arrows (>>) will appear facing to the right, pointing at the main dashboard menu as highlighted in yellow below:
You can click the two little black arrows (>>) will appear facing to the right at any time in order to maximize the navigation menu on the left side of your screen.
To the right of the navigation menu, are the Main Dashboard Menus. Please note that you might have some, all, or more Main Dashboard Menus depending upon your business. These are the most common menus:
- Employee Dashboard: this page displays an overview of all employees including their certifications and PTO.
- Onboarding: view pending new hires here.
- Employees: this will be your most-used tab. All employee information is accessed here.
- Timecard: view employee timecards here. Note: this tab does not appear for all users.
- Employee Reports: create employee reports and edit their skills, certifications, training information, anniversaries, birthdays, compliance information and more.
